INVENTIONS
There were many inventions of Sparta. But these inventions were made by many people together, including women. One invention of Sparta was the Phalanx, a military formation. It is one of their most important military advancements to attack or break the enemy line. The soldiers form themselves into a rectangle, armed with spears, swords or some other similar weapons, and fight closely together to keep moving forward.
Another invention were military schools. Children, usually at the age of 6 or 7, were sent to these special barracks to help them train to be a soldier. They would stay there until they were, again, 20. The schools' structure were base on discipline, and the boys who turned into warriors were ready to fight and die for Sparta.
Although there is many other heroes that helped Sparta become what it was years ago, these characters displayed has shown how rich and powerful Sparta was in the Greek world itself through many dangers and sacrifices.
